PRESENT CONTINUOUS IN ENGLISH

Hi Children!!!

This is an explanation to form the Present Continuous or Present Progressive in English language.

1. We use the present continuous tense to talk about things that are happening now.

Another name for the present continuous tense is the present progressive.

Examples:

Are you reading a comic? No, I'm not.

I'm playing chess.

The dog is barking.

The cat is drinking milk.

You are doing your homework.

It isn't raining. The sun is shining.

2. We use the present continuous to describe
things people are doing now.

Examples:

He is listening to music.

I am riding a bike.

You are learning English.

We aren't writing a letter.

3. We use the present continuous tense to talk about things we plan to do in the future.

Examples:

I'm going shopping tomorrow morning.

They are playing handball on Sunday.

She isn't cooking tonight.

What are you doing at the weekend?
