Hi There!!!
Welcome back again!!!
How is it going?
Here below, there is a brief explanation for you about how to form third persons of singular in the present simple tense in English language.
In English, the present simple tense is used for habits and routines, something that we usually do every day.
You have to bear in mind the following rules for thirds persons of singular, in other words,
HE - SHE - IT
1) If the verb ends in -----> -sh, -ch, -x, consonat + O, -ss, -z.
We add the sufix -ES to the verb.
Examples
watch -----> watches
wash -----> washes
box -----> boxes
go -----> goes
kiss -----> kisses
buzz -----> buzzes
He goes home after work.
2) If the verb ends in -y, and there is a vowel before.
We add -S
Examples
play -----> plays
buy -----> buys
She buys a new necklace.
3) If the verb ends in -y but there is before a consonant.
We change -Y by -ies
Examples
cry -----> cries
dry -----> dries
fly -----> flies
The fly flies in the room.
4) For the rest of the others verbs that don´t follow the rules above.
We add -S
Examples
run -----> runs
write -----> writes
eat -----> eats
draw -----> draws
and so on...
My brother draws beautiful pictures.
Now, after reading and learning these rules,
I think it´s time for taking the following quiz.
