THE THREE WISE MEN STORY

The Story of the Three Wise Men

Every year, on the evening of January 5th, people remember the journey of the three wise men. These men, often called the Magi, are named Melchior, Caspar, and Balthazar. They come from distant lands, each bringing a unique gift to honour a very special child. Melchior is an elderly man with a long white beard, and he wears a golden robe that reflects his wealth and wisdom. Caspar, younger than Melchior, has brown hair and a red cloak. Balthazar, with dark skin and a green tunic, comes from a land far to the south. They travel across deserts and mountains on camels, facing many challenges on their way.

The wise men are guided by a brilliant star that appears suddenly in the sky. This star shines brighter than any other, and it leads them towards Bethlehem. The Magi believe the star marks the birth of a new king, one who will bring hope and peace to the world. This king is baby Jesus, who is born in a humble stable. His mother, Mary, and his father, Joseph, care for him with great love, even though they have little to offer.

As they journey, the wise men carry special gifts for the newborn king. Melchior brings gold, a valuable metal that symbolises royalty and wealth. Caspar carries frankincense, a fragrant resin used in religious ceremonies. Its sweet scent represents prayer and worship. Balthazar brings myrrh, an expensive oil often used in medicine and burial rituals, symbolising both healing and the sacrifices that Jesus will make in his life.

After a long and difficult journey, the three wise men finally arrive in Bethlehem. They find Jesus lying in a manger, a simple feeding trough for animals. Despite the humble surroundings, the wise men recognise that this child is no ordinary baby. They kneel before him, presenting their gifts with great reverence and joy. In that moment, they feel a deep sense of happiness and peace, knowing they are in the presence of someone truly special.

Before reaching Bethlehem, the wise men meet King Herod. Herod is a ruler who feels threatened by the idea of a new king. He asks the wise men to return and tell him where Jesus is, pretending that he wants to honour the child as well. However, the wise men are warned in a dream not to trust Herod. After visiting Jesus, they take a different route home, avoiding Herod and protecting the baby from harm.

Today, the story of the three wise men is celebrated in many countries around the world. In some places, there are parades where people dress as the Magi and re-enact their journey. Children leave their shoes by the door or windows, hoping to find small gifts or sweets left by the wise men during the night. For many, it is a time to reflect on generosity, kindness, and the importance of following one’s faith.

The tale of the wise men reminds us of the value of perseverance and the joy of giving. It teaches that true greatness often comes in humble forms and that acts of kindness and faith can bring light to even the darkest times.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

As the clock strikes midnight and the world welcomes a brand-new year, let us take a moment to celebrate the incredible journey that has brought us here. Happy New Year, everyone!

The dawn of 2025 is not just the start of another calendar year; it is a fresh chapter, a blank canvas waiting for us to paint it with the colors of hope, dreams, and achievements. Each one of us holds a palette of possibilities, and this year is a chance to create something truly extraordinary.

To every person reading this, know that you are part of a global family united in hope, love, and resilience. This dedication is for you—whether you’re celebrating surrounded by loved ones, reflecting quietly on your own, or dreaming of the adventures that await.

As we say goodbye to 2024, let’s carry forward its lessons, joys, and challenges. Life may not always go according to plan, but every experience—good or bad—helps shape us into stronger, wiser individuals. The passing year may have brought moments of triumph or trials, but in every ending lies the seed of a new beginning.

Let this New Year be a time to embrace new opportunities and growth. Set goals that inspire you, both big and small. Whether it’s learning a new skill, rekindling an old friendship, or taking steps towards a dream you’ve long held close, remember that each step forward is progress.

Let 2025 also be a year filled with kindness. In a world that sometimes feels divided, small acts of love and compassion can make all the difference. Smile at a stranger, lend a helping hand, or simply be there to listen to someone who needs it. Kindness costs nothing but has the power to transform lives—yours included.

And while we work towards our goals and dreams, let’s not forget to celebrate the simple joys: the warmth of the sun on a crisp morning, the laughter of a friend, the peace of a quiet evening. These moments, often fleeting, are what make life beautiful.

To those who have faced hardships this past year, know that you are not alone. May 2025 bring you healing, strength, and brighter days. To those who have experienced joy and success, may the coming year continue to bless you abundantly. And to everyone, may this year be a tapestry woven with moments of love, laughter, and achievement.

As we stand on the threshold of this new year, let us walk forward together with courage, optimism, and gratitude in our hearts. The world is full of infinite possibilities, and this year is your opportunity to explore them, to grow, and to thrive.

Happy New Year, everyone! May 2025 be a year of health, happiness, and harmony for all. Here’s to a brighter, kinder, and more prosperous future.

Cheers!

Halloween Party (Primary Education)

Halloween Party (Pre-Primary Education)

History of Halloween

There are many different ideas as to how Halloween celebrations started. A number of people believe that this tradition began thousands of years ago with the Celts. The Celtic people celebrated New Year’s Day on November 1st and, to protect themselves against the winter, they organized activities to scare off evil spirits the night of October 31st.

This is one version; however, some people believe that Halloween has a shorter history.

Why do people wear costumes for Halloween?

Wearing costumes for Halloween began hundreds of years ago. Many people believed that ghosts roamed the streets the night before All Saint’s Day so they wore masks and costumes to keep evil spirits away. In the past, aside from wearing masks, people used to also place bowls of food on their doorsteps to make sure ghosts and spirits didn’t enter in their houses.

You can play "Bob-apple" game. You put some apples in a bucket, put your hands behind your back and try to eat an apple.

You can make a Halloween lantern. You cut the pumpkin to make eyes, a nose and a mouth. You put a candle in the pumpkin.
